Exercise your right to vote!

For the Feb. 9 transit election, ballots will be mailed out on Jan. 22 to all registered voters residing in the Walla Walla and College Place school districts. For an absentee ballot if you will be out of town when your ballot arrives, contact the county elections office at 509-524-3520. If you are not already registered to vote in Walla Walla County, the final day to register by mail is Jan. 11. If you are not currently registered to vote in Washington state, you can also register in person at the Walla Walla County Auditor's Office through Feb. 1 to receive a ballot for the February 9 election.

Registration forms should be mailed to Walla Walla County, PO Box 2176, Walla Walla WA 99362-0356, or can be carried in by anyone to the Walla Walla County Auditor's Office, County Courthouse, Second Floor, Room 201, 5th & Main, Walla Walla by Jan. 11, to receive a ballot for the Feb. 9 transit election. They can also be carried in by the registering voter through Monday, Feb. 1, to receive a ballot in the Feb.9 election.

You may register and vote if you are:
* A citizen of the United States;
* A legal resident of Washington State;
* A resident of Walla Walla County at least 30 days before Election Day
* At least 18 years old by Election Day.

You are not eligible to register or vote if you:
Have been convicted of a felony and your voting rights have not been restored; or
Have been declared by a court to be mentally incompetent and ineligible to vote.
